January 1, 2025

The staff at The Union Event Center is always at their best. I personally love going to this venue located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The staff will always take care of you and is always aware of the audience to make sure everyone is safe and having fun.

I got talking with a couple that told me they have seen Collective Soul 16 times. Their first show was in 2019. And that they have traveled to see them.

One of them told me how meaningful their music is and suggested to anyone to not only listen to their music but to read the lyrics. Their favorite album is " anniversary" that Ed Roland dedicated to his wife Michaeline for their 10 year anniversary back in 2014.

The others favorite song was are you the answer release of their new album in 2024.

A young fan by the age of 13 years old told me he had been listening to Collective Soul since the age of 6 years old. He told me " I love to listen to December, it is my favorite song". December is one of their hit songs from the album Collective Soul from 1995.

The song "Shine" was Collective Soul's first single and became their signature song. It was the number one Album Rock Song of 1994 and won a Billboard award for Top Rock Track. And to this day is loved by all their fans.

Ed Roland the lead singer took the opportunity during this song and let the crowd sing the main chorus to him. It felt uniting in bringing all who was there together.

Ed Roland told a story about Aerosmith having them there big break after the band stopped touring in 1998. He then decided the song "living on the edge" as a memento.

Lots of free spirits dancing up and out of their chairs in the crowd.

The band Collective Soul was based in the 90s and this is their 31st show.
