Soccer Mommy Brings an Intimate and

Meaningful Performance to The Depot

March 8, 2025

Soccer Mommy’s return to Utah for her third show was nothing short

of mesmerizing, bringing together fans from all over for a night of

music that felt both personal and immersive. The Depot’s laid-back

atmosphere set the perfect stage, with fans of all backgrounds

gathered to celebrate her unique blend of indie rock and introspective

lyrics. Among them was a first-time attendee from Utah who

connected deeply with Shotgun, describing it as a song that perfectly

captures the feeling of wanting to be with someone forever. Another

local fan favored Bloodstream, a track that reminded her of the

fleeting nature of youth and the nostalgia that comes with growing up.

Meanwhile, a family of five from Pocatello, Idaho, had traveled to see

Soccer Mommy as part of a Christmas gift from their dad. It was their

first time experiencing her live, and he shared that Driver was his

personal favorite, while his daughter loved Your Dog for its chill, road-

trip-worthy vibe.

From the moment she took the stage, Soccer Mommy made it clear this

would be a special night. Before starting her set, a screen flashed a

message in honor of International Women’s Day, setting a reflective

tone. The performance featured a mix of fan favorites and newer

releases, including Driver from her 2024 album Ever Green, which

quickly became a crowd favorite. Her guitar solos were a standout,

showcasing the raw talent that makes her music so captivating. At one

point, she reminisced about her old Ford Ranger before launching into a

song about her truck. When a fan requested Henry between songs, she

admitted it wasn’t on the setlist but promised to play it next time, joking

that every time she did, no one named Henry was there to hear it. She

also gave a shout out to her opener, Hana, mentioning she owned a

piece of her merch and encouraging fans to support her as well.

The show’s production was a visual treat, with a projector casting colorful,

psychedelic imagery of flowers and nature, complementing the emotional depth of her music. She changed guitars to almost every song, keeping things fresh, and took a stripped-down moment to perform Lost with only her pianist and lead guitarist. The venue fell silent as the crowd swayed, soaking in the intimate moment. She followed with a solo performance of Still Clean before bringing the full band back for Crawling In My Skin, noting afterward that the song was from an album that had just turned five years old. Closing out the night, she performed a heartfelt track from her album Evergreen, the song was Your Dog, before returning for an encore featuring Changes and Don’t Ask Me. As the final notes rang out, it was clear that Soccer Mommy had once again created an unforgettable experience for her fans in Salt Lake City.
