Jake & Shelby Deliver Raw Emotion and Connection in
Their Live Set at the SoundWell
May 16,2025

Jake & Shelby brought more than just music to the Soundwell stage — they brought vulnerability, healing, and a sense of belonging. Fan Hannah traveled from Utah County to Salt Lake City to see the duo live for the first time with her boyfriend, and shared that their song “Honest” is deeply personal to her. The lyrics speak openly about trauma and emotional wounds, and for Hannah, it felt like a reassuring reminder that she’s not alone.
From the moment they stepped onstage, the chemistry between Jake and Shelby was undeniable — not only through their harmonies, but also in the way they looked at each other, grounding every lyric with real emotion. Shelby
took a moment to open up about her own insecurities and trust issues, inviting the audience to sing along if they’d ever felt the same. That sense of mutual understanding echoed throughout the venue, especially when they performed their
recent release “Loophole,” a song they wrote in LA about being open to love again. They split the audience in two to sing along with the chorus, creating an unforgettable shared experience.
To close the night, they performed “Girl I’ll Be Tomorrow,” leaving the room quiet with emotion and full of warmth. Jake & Shelby don’t just play songs — they invite listeners into their journey, making each show feel like a conversation between friends. It’s clear their music isn’t just heard, it’s felt.
